Hello readers!
John here — we’re back after our summer break, so it’s time for an update from Gareth and me here in The Up Front Towers.
New podcasts — for free listeners and for subscribers
We’re delighted that so many of you have enjoyed our podcasts over the last year, so we’re bringing you more of them.
Based on your feedback over the last few months, we’re adding The Up Front Podcast as a free-to-listen series for everyone. The first new-look episode is a thought-provoking interview about the shape of the industry over the next 20 years, with Boeing’s vice president of commercial marketing Darren Hulst. It’s coming soon, so make sure your favourite podcast app is subscribed to our feed.
But never fear, subscribers, your exclusive podcast is still here — now called The Upgrade — with critical industry intelligence delivered right to your favourite podcast app. We’ll be diving deeper into the topics from every episode of the main podcast, as well as sending you additional interviews and more discussions throughout the year. Head on over to your podcast feeds , which will automatically offer you the feed that includes The Upgrade — you don’t need to subscribe separately.
We’re also thrilled to announce that The Chain, our supply chain podcast, is returning for a second season, and will be free to listen thanks to the team at SIMONA Boltaron. That’ll come through on whichever feed you’re subscribed to.
So, to sum up:
- free user? Subscribe to the main podcast feed
- subscriber? Subscribe to your exclusive subscriber podcast feed
Our Aerospace Media Award is the cherry on the sundae of a fantastic first year of The Up Front, so thank you!
It’s been an absolute whirlwind of a year since we founded The Up Front, capped off by taking home the Aerospace Media Award — in the core category on the passenger experience — for our accessibility feature, Disabled passengers, airport wheelchairs and the pernicious myth of “Jetway Jesus”.
![Screenshot of header and image from The Up Front. [category] The Up Front Analysis [headline] Disabled passengers, airport wheelchairs and the pernicious myth of "Jetway Jesus" [subheader] Clickbait hacks aside, perpetuating inaccuracies about disabled passengers and wheelchair users is wrong — and counterproductive for aviation [byline] By John Walton / Jan 5, 2026 / 11 min read / 2,536 words [image of person in wheelchair at airport with luggage behind](https://theupfront.media/content/images/2026/09/jetway-jesus.png)
We’re genuinely thrilled, not just for the award, but that it’s on one of the topics that Gareth and I care so deeply about. Thank you especially to our Premium and Business subscribers for funding our work on accessibility.

Renew now at last year’s prices, upgrade to business, bring colleagues along for our multi-user discounts — and advertise on The Up Front
Hello readers, Gareth here for this part.
We’re happy to confirm that existing subscribers will be able to renew, or upgrade, this year at last year's prices. So, if you’ve been thinking about bringing more team members on board, or upgrading to Business tier, this is a great time to do it.
Have colleagues or clients who would benefit from a subscription too? Our multi-user subscriptions are flexible, and we allow you to mix-and-match subscription types within them. That gives you cost-optimised access for your whole team to our news coverage at Premium, while giving key individuals access to our deeper analysis at the Business tier as well.
Spend over £1000 on a multi-user licence and instantly unlock £1000 of advertising credit for the site, and 10% off all advertising. This makes it a cost-effective way to stay informed — and to inform our industry audience about your company or product.
To find out more about multi-user subscriptions, email subscribe@theupfrontgroup.com.
Our unique advertising model is low-distraction yet high-impact. We’re now taking ad bookings for the website (including article emails) and our podcasts for Q3 2026 and beyond.
Advertising on The Up Front is a great way to reach key decision-makers and industry influencers, especially around core industry events. We offer competitive rates, and are happy to customise packages to your needs. We can also assist with advertising artwork, for those organisations normally locked out of digital advertising as they lack access to these skills internally.
For our rate card and more information on advertising on The Up Front, contact advertise@theupfrontgroup.com.
